If I not wrong, being internal and non- extendable focus, shld be more exp to manufacture . Eg. Af 50 f/1.8D is external focus and u can see the lens extending/retracting .

I dun think that's valid, FX 50mm F/1.8G design and built is almost identical to DX 35mm F/1.8G, but it's still similar or cheaper than the 35mm.

Senior cowseye, I was refering to AF 50 f/1.8d leh.....

Hmm, i think 50mm af-s 1.8 is abit cheaper than 35mm af-s 1.8 although i'm not sure why also.

Because wide angle lens is costly, generally speaking.

50mm is called "standard" lens, simple construction.
