Nikon 16mm fisheye comparison with Sigma 15mm fisheye?

I got my Nikon 16mm f/2.8 FE as a pre-owned lens.

Works great.

Thanks Luminare.

Nice - Canal City, Fukuoka?

Beautiful - I have no doubt it is a capable lens - my copy hasn't found its way out to doing real shooting yet. I will probably keep my 16/2.8 FE unless I get a chance to try out the Sigma side by side and if it is significantly better.

'cause the close focus is important to me (the Sigma focuses closer) - I do something called CFWA - close focus wide angle.

That is correct. Fukouka Canal City

A nice place with the natural bends and lines to use a fisheye.

The focus distance of the 16mm f/2.8 FE wasn't as close as I expected a 16mm lens to be.

FE shots are not easy to come by and spending above 1.1k for a lens that rarely see the light is kind of daunting on the mind. However, I also used the FE shots to take environmental portraits of my family on this trip and I am reasonably pleased with the results.

It is also a lens that is not the easiest to obtain as stock levels are low being a specialised lens and the resale price thus far had not gone below S$700 which otherwise presents a low depreciation compared to the likes of the other gold banded lenses.

If one likes fisheye and can find creative uses for it, this is a keeper.

Thanks Luminare.
