As part of continued enthusism w.r.t the much talked about F mount manual lens, which is mainly concentrated here in this old thread:

http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=247893

We are having a outing/shoot/sharing session this saturday morning at SBG. Meeting 8am at SBG entrance.
*meet at the Napier Road entrance next to Gleneagles

Location is chosen as it is rather centralised and easy to navigate as we are all familiar with it, thus facilitating the sharing of manual lens as well.

We would like to extend our warmest welcome to anyone who has queries w.r.t the MF lens, would like to come and bear witness to the quality of these lens, or just want to come make some friends.

Best if you are able to bring along some of your collection or those passed down. Otherwise you can come just to try out from the rest.

Canon users are welcomed too as i will be bringing along an adaptor with AF chip.

If keen to come pls add your name to the contact list and pm me contact number.

If possible lets keep it mayb to 10 ppl so that it wont be messy. :)

Hi syl, didnt know you are using a 5D. The more you should come, nikon's reputed wide angle primes on a full frame sensor....

400mm.. Hmm dont tempt me to carry my 400L, otherwise ill die under the weight as well. Dont intend to drive on sat..

BTW something i do when i carry my gear out (1Computrekker, 1 Mini Trekker AW, 1 EX180 full of gear), i put 2 of the bags on a cheap foldable trolley and secure them with a bicycle hook... Makes shooting alot more enjoyable and reduces the backache.

That's only if you go to some place that is civilised that has concrete paths, etc. How good is it over unpaved roads, grass knolls, forests, etc?

In the past I had a case of my camera failing when I placed it on a seat of a 4 wheel drive over rough terrain - the vibrations caused the contacts to come loose hence the camera was not able to link up with the lenses and focussing did not work. And this was in Mongolia. :( Had to return home to rectify the problem. So once bitten, twice .....

Anyway I'm not bringing as many lenses as you, 0nly 4 plus tripod plus all the other gear needed for a nature photoshoot!

I got mine when i was in Guangzhou, i chose the one with the biggest wheels...

They perform relatively well even on terrains like ubin..

My lens all small... :)

Im bringing along a small and light tripod as well...

Those keen to use the manual lens should bring tripod as well if they are not too used to MF yet..

Hi, those coming tomorrow please pm me your contact number or sms/ call me at 91120589 so that it is easier to meet up tmr. :)
