Night Shoot: Helix + MBS

1.In what area is critique to be sought?
The exposure of the picture. Right side of MBS abit over-expose?
If exposure timing is shorten, Helix bridge will be under-expose, dull?
Wondering whether Multiple Exposure shots help in such situation, to balance up exposure at both end.

2.What one hopes to achieve with the piece of work?
Seeking a better understanding and fundamental in night-shoot.

3.Under what circumstance is the picture taken? (physical conditions/emotions)
Taken at night with a clear sky.

4.What the critique seeker personally thinks of the picture.
Personally, I feel this is one of the better photo I took after many many tries.
Especially the many advise from all the Snr in this forum, from my previous post.

Overall, the photo look quite good, exposure, constrast, sharpness and composition.

looks like the highlights just clipped.
Not sure if this might work as it depend on the dynamic range of the sensor.
You can check in-camera to review your shot for any clipped highlight and ev- (if you are in A mode) accordingly to get the highlights just right. "Bring out" the dark shadow areas, during your post processing. Probably, you have to experiment with a few different exposure to see which one will give you the most details without clipping the highlight or losing details in the shadow area.

Thought a good picture criteria is to be sharp?
Never use PP for this picture at all, but the in-camera feature instead.

I agree that its a common composition, but i think TS is just asking the public their views on the general sharpness and quality of the photo, less the composing portion.

Anyway to TS, very good out-of-camera quality :thumbsup:. I happen to have the exact same set up as you do. Versatile lens on a lightweight body.

don't you just hate it when u see spot light shining directly at you and right in the middle of the pic? That is why I try to shoot this area when all the construction work is over

I like the photo though, you may want to try HDR?

maybe using a black card to cover the overexpose side.... I am still experimenting this.

Not sure what's that spotlight for.
But kinda like it actually. Coming out of no-where
Prefer to have minimal PP as possible, so not looking at HDR at the moment.

Out of curosity, besides increases and decreases the original picture exposure via photoshop, can HDR be done for night, long exposure shots?
