When everybody is asleep, I am shooting macro in the forest at midnight.

I was exploring the possibility of using the EF 50mm f1.4 lens + close-up filters to shoot macro. Therefore, all the pictures below were taken using this lens.

Saw this hairy moth's capterpillar crawling.

Don't underestimated this spider despite that it has lost 2 of its 8 legs. I saw it jumped onto its prey in split secs.

The best of all, spotted this sleeping bird.

A spider caught the jungle cockroach as its meal. Look the the size of the cockroach vs the spider. The spider can definitely prey on larger subjects.

Short tailed babbler sleeping!
WK.. I belief thats the closest anyone ever got to a wild bird.(chicks not counted) And impresive for a skittish bird like the short tailed babbler. Had been huntin for this fella for a few weeks... no success.

Very nice pics. Can I ask what is the focal length of your lens and please tell me more about the close up filter you are using. Are you using any extension tubes ? Thks.

As stated earlier in the post, I am using the prime lens EF 50mm f1.4 together with close-up filters. No extension tube is used.

You have checked it out yourself at Cathay Photo or other shops for the prices.

For me, I have lobangs, so my price is not a good gauge.
