I simply bump up the blue in photo editor because I like the look of it.

Toning should be subtle. The blue should be a little less than visible for it to take psychological effect. Warm tones attract the viewer, cool tones distance the viewer.
 

If I think the pic is good I won't be putting it up here for critique. When put up for critique, won't be afraid to hear comments because no matter how good you've done, still got people say bad, and no matter how bad you've done, still got people say good.

But isn't it so extra when the later respondents just echos the same comments the earlier respondents had said so many times.

hey TS, i see you've got more varied comments and replies now. but like you've said, its all subjective; some call it good, some call it bad. i just happen to agree with the above people who thought the latter of your photo.

about the second picture - the lady with the glasses kinda looks more interesting to me.
hope others have not already posted that same comment though.
