hi peeps, i'm wondering if it is true that all alpha lense is still auto-focus-able when using with nex adaptor?

or only certain range of lense?

i'm thinking of the combi as mentioned in the title.

it's false.

only SAM/SSM lenses can, and are damn slow.

yea.. only SAM n SSM can AF..and its very slow..if u wanna get 75300.. why not buy the 18 200 E mount instead.

Too expensive liao..waiting for them to announce the new E-mounting lens..

hey. one point to take note. usage of a mount adapter to mount lenses from another mount usually kills off the AF (i.e. NO AF)

having AF with the LA-EA1 adaptor is not a bad thing.

so before you condemn it, take another look at future possibilities.

NEX5 + LA-EA1 + SAL75300 = no AF

SEL18200 maybe more expensive, but then the AF is "SSM-like" (better than SAM, according to reviewers) ... so you can't compare it with SAL75300 with in-body AF. There are also some other differences as well, not just the AF.

Personally, I'd rather wait for the rumored SEL55200 ... at least it should be similar to the kit lens SEL1855, or hopefully better IQ/performance.

* With an A-mount lens attached, the autofocus speed will be slower than when an E-mount lens is attached. (It takes approximately 2 to 7 seconds). It may vary depending on the subjects or brightness of the shooting environement.

yea it would be perfect if they can come out a firmware or better adapter that makes A lenses AF as quick fast E mounts on NEX..
This should push up the sales by a mile. but well.. guess it wont happen. Since Nex system are suppose to be small.
