Newcastle v West Brom
1-1-2 v 1-1-2

Life has not been fantastic for Newcastle ever since I watch them when Shearer was still in reign for the team. After in which things started to fall out due to managerial issues. Now at bottom 2 of the table with only 6 points on hand, it turns to be a MUST win match today. Having to head into the game looking for their first Barclays Premier League victory since August 23 and still licking their wounds after Saturday's derby defeat at Sunderland, their first on Wearside for 28 years.

Things might not have been too comfortable with both Michael Owen and Nicky Butt out of the clash with West Brom. Owen (groin) and Butt (ankle) are expected to give way to Barton and Jonas Gutierrez, who appeared as subs in the 2-1 defeat at Sunderland. To further add on to the injury list, Mark Viduka (Achilles) and Alan Smith (foot) remain on the sidelines.

The only credit Magpies have in procession will be the return of Joey Barton whom are not very favour during their lost at Sunderland by the home fans together with Jonas Gutierrez.

As for the away team, West Brom is not doing any better themselves either with goals conceeded at the back of the net. There are so many things to be resolve within the players, defence and goalkeeping support. Albion currently lie 13th in the table with 10 points from nine games and face Newcastle on the back of a 4-0 defeat at Manchester United and 3-0 home loss to Hull.

Winger Chris Brunt could be recalled with manager Tony Mowbray considering a five-man midfield. Central defender Abdoulaye Meite (calf) and midfielders Filipe Teixeira (calf) and Kim Do-Heon (knee) are both out.

Home and away
League: Newcastle 38 wins, WBA 38, Draws 28
Prem: Newcastle 4 wins, WBA 0, Draws 2

at Newcastle only
League: Newcastle 27 wins, WBA 14, Draws 11
Prem: Newcastle 3 wins, WBA 0, Draws 0

Prediction: With a good home record against West Brom for the past 3 encounters winning all 3, I am looking at Newcastle to make the 4th and win by at least a goal and hopefully Obafemi MARTINS will score the winning goal on his 24th birthday.
