Hi people,

just started photography less than 6 months ago, very curious what others think and feel about my photos.

This is my photoblog - http://www.flickriver.com/photos/iqgno

Comments would help me improve!

Cheers,
Gary.

I personally like some of your shots like the one above, but try to keep it off center, IMHO though.

As for this, the grass kinda killed a good photo.

Anyway, nice photographs you have although lighting is sometimes off!
Keep it up!

Welcome to CS, it would be more helpful to both you and us if you were to select a few photos and post them up in the "galleries" subforums for critic, rather than supply a link to your whole collection.

Thanks for the advises, i have a few questions.

why should the object be OFF centre? and what is IMHO?

Cheers,
Gary =)

Why object OFF centre - this is composition - sometimes, when the subject is off centre, it gives a stronger impact to the pic. Not necessary must always be off centre, it all depends on situation.

IMHO - In My Humble Opinion.

do note that the newbie corner is not a gallery, please post in the gallery forum to ask for opinions

this is a common rule of composition called "the rule of thirds"
it is just a guideline, so compose to suit your image and not just follow rules just for the sake of confirming.

google "rule of thirds" and "composition"
