Recommended levels and how to achieve them should be detailed in your manual. Generally, with the digital cabs, you set the desired value and the dry cab tries to maintain it. If it's an analog cabinet, tweak the dial, wait a few hours for the humidity reading to settle, then adjust again. Repeat till you get the value you want.
