Critique is the action of carrying out a detailed analysis and assessment of something.
A Critic is someone who does this above action



And yes, it is good to be strict with yourself and your own photos. I find myself deleting a lot of my own photos because I am unsatisfied with them. As you become better, you will raise the bar, and you will become more and more strict with your own work.
