Newbie need advice on lens

Hi all bros and sis,

I'm new to CS and this is my first posting. I'm trying to pick up this hobby and need advice on the lens to purchase. For starter, like to know which lens is good for indoor shots as I mostly take pics of my children at home. I have a 3 year old 350D with kits lens.

The cheapest option is to get a Canon 50mm F1.8 II.. good for indoors and good bokeh.. and wouldn't break the bank.

Not only the cheapest option... it is the cheapest 'professional' lens one can definitely afford to own.

Do understand the next fast lens of f/1.8 will cost you at least 5x more. :bsmilie:
