Hi waterstreet! I think it's a good choice on your part to learn photography by starting off with a DSLR. It's a good piece of equipment to lessen the gradient of the learning curve. Anyway, I'm a newbie also (though no one believes me...), and am having a hell-of-a-time burning films to learn the basics. If only I were to hold the temptation of getting the 4 cameras I have now, and bought a DSLR... Damn!
