Hi...All new to dslr. Planning to buy one entry level dslr. Looking at Pentax K-x right now? Is it good?
Any other camera suggestions.

What are the accessories needed when buying the dslr?
I'm afraid i end up buying more things than needed for a newbie.

Thanks a lot.

pentax k-x is good.

but so are canon, nikon, olympus, sony dslrs, it depends on what your needs are, whether you can live with the compromises.

i suppose you're going to ask next, what are these compromises? in which case, do a search, read a few other threads, sometimes people get tired of repeating themselves everytime someone decides to start a thread like this one.

Hi bugger13,

Set your budget first. and ask yourself which brand do you prefer.

Pentax K-x is value for money and the specs is awesome... do research more on it you will know what i mean..

If you willing to pay abit more then consider Nikon D5000 or Canon 500D.

Thanks a lot for the info guys.
Will do more research meantime.

What about the accessories? Anything that must be bought along with the camera?
I just need to basic stuff till I get more familiar with the camera.

Thanks...

Welcome to ClubSNAP

a good place to get up to speed is to read the stickies

the camera is good if you know how to use it, i have seen great shots for camera phones

read the manual of the k-x.

best to get a camera that you grow into rather then one that is "dead end" imo. Best way is to join the various outings and then see how the cameras perform in real life.

whatever works for you...though if you dont need the video features, i would pick the 40D over it anyday if limited to Canon products.

Hello...welcome.

The Pentax is a great cam. Go try it out at the shop to see if you like it. The handling and user interface are important.

Why don't you start your own thread instead of coming here crashing others'?
