Hi, i'm interested in car photography (panning shots, motion blurring) and i want to buy a DSLR to take photos and experiment. can any seniors here recommend something thats good to start out with and how to adjust the camera settings to suit the type of images i want? im also working on a budget so try to factor that in as well :D

any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks!

1. you need a tripod for motion blur
2. any camera that have shutter priority mode
3. you may need a monopod for panning

lastly read the user manual of the camera that you buy
go to the library and borrow some books

don't expect to get good results on your first take, it takes practice to get it right
question yourself on what went wrong and how do i correct it.
join photo outings and learn from other like minded people

lastly enjoy yourself while shooting :)

what is shutter priority mode? is there any tutorial here i can look at?

then go to the "lastly" tips ortega just gave first. I suggest reading up on the photography for newbies guide in the sticky as well. hope this helps.

Read the photography tips for newbies, or google "photography basics tutorial".
