Hi, i am planning a trip together with a couple to New York in 2 weeks time.
Will be staying there for 2 days to shoot bridal photos for this couple.

Can anyone recommend any significant places or must-shoot places that i must visit?
wil be visiting niagara falls as well. please help! :D

tks

Wah a lot:

Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, WTC ground zero, Wall Streets, Times Square (42nd Street, and the "porn street (peep show)" but beware of mugging), UN, Central Park, 5th Avenue (rich people's residents), Grand Central Terminal, Staten Island Ferry Terminal, American Museum of Natural History, Metropolitan Museum of Art. Not so safe areas: Harlem & Upper Manhatan.

my favorites:
- central park (i think there might be a pond for some nice reflections)
- times square
- rockerfeller center (go to the top and take a photo with the empire state building in the background).
- grand central terminal
- chinatown
- brooklyn bridge
- battery park
the museums should be nice too.

For Niagara falls:
- try to get the rainbow (I think the sun has to be behind you) if you can.
- be prepared to get wet (when i took the ferry, they provided raincoats. that was 1998, but i guess they might still do so).
in 1998, i did not bring passports so i only saw the falls from the Canada side, not the US side (on the other hand, i heard the Canada side is better).

Just a heads up. You may need a licence to shoot at some of the buildings. I definitely know that you could possibly be stopped at Grand Central Station.

Just came back frm NYC in June and my suggestion is for you to browse thru websites for all the iconic locations of NYC and be prepared to shot either very early in the morning or very late in the night cos NYC is like Orchard road during GSS everywhere full of people and yellow cabs and all macam macam. Also driving in NYC is a nightmare so best can hire a limo to move around.

Niagara Falls comprises of American, Bridal Veil and Horseshoe Falls and is confirm best view from Canada side but for any close up with the greenish clear water roaring inches beside you it's by the American Fall. Careful as your cam will get wet!! Night time it's beautiful with color lights and fireworks too, depending on timing.

Good luck;)

as an alternative to limo, Manhattan Island is very walkable and you can take the subways (this is what I do when I go there).
