For the final 'bang' - the eight-minute fireworks sequence - Mr Lim invited Iskandar Ismail to write something original for it, and hooked him up with a three-piece band called Lunarin. 'It was a combined effort,' says Iskandar, of his collaboration with the rock musicians to create a 'rock symphony' that will be synchronised with the fireworks sequence and patterns.
The best vantage points, Mr Lim points out, will be the areas closest to the water - like Esplanade Bridge, One Fullerton, and the Esplanade Waterfront. 'There'll be water shells as well, and of course, the music will be heard primarily by those who're standing along the waterfront.' But motorists shouldn't stop along Sheares Bridge to catch the fireworks, he cautions. 'We've been asked by police to point that out because obviously it'll be quite dangerous!'
