Okay first thing first hello to CS people.

Secondly I'm intending to get a DSLR camera for my personal usage and I don't have any basic stuff , knowledge on DSLR .

i have a budget lower then $1000 for a start up what camera model can u suggest for a beginner.

Hello...welcome.

$1k is not a small budget for a DSLR. A brand new Sony A230 which has the full feature of a higher end DSLR and comes with build in stabiliser is only $600+ from the shops and the remaining $ you can use for the extended warranty which also comes with a free 50mm f1.8 lens which is great for portraits and low light situations. ;)

Warm welcome to CS;)

the mainstream choices are nikon d5000 or canon 1000D or the older 450D.
you may also want to check out pentax and sony.

any one of these cameras should be fine. just get a model you like and start shooting some amazing stuff!

theres error in the website

There are many choices for me

Sony digital Alpha A230L c/w 18-55mm lens
Olympus camedia E450 kit c/w 14-42mm lens
Sony Alpha A330L c/w 18-55mm lens
Nikon D3000 c/w AF-S18-55mm lens
Canon eos-1000D ef=s18-55 lens

This all is within my budget anyway $1000 and below

between the A230 and the A330, I would recommend the A330 instead. The live View can be pretty useful and it's good for new users upgrading from a compact camera to DSLRs.

Yes, we have a consumers corner and a priceguide thread. If you search "recommended shops" you will see the usual list.

not intending to get 2nd hand .

is d3000 good ?

Read the reviews. compare. Learn. don't ask for spoonfeeding. Learn about the limitations of the D3000.

for a newbie...best is to just go and try out the different cameras and see which one suit u best.. feature wise..they are all around the same level...

Sure, it's a perfect paperweight. Some people manage to take pictures with it, though ...
