I'm currently using an old PnS that uses 2 x AA-sized batteries, and I have been using 2500mAh rechargeable NiMH batteries.
I have been using the batteries for a couple of years already and I notice that fully-charged 2 x 2500mAh batteries only give me about 30 to 40 shots before draining completely. I wonder if this is normal and expected for rechargeable batteries or this is due to the batteries degrading over time due to wear-and-tear?
I now have 2 options:
Any advice?

I now have 2 options:
- buy new Eneloop rechargeable batteries that should retain charges better
- buy a new camera that uses built-in lithium batteries for longer lasting battery life between requiring recharging
Any advice?
