Why do you need such a high pixel cam?
Printing poster to cover whole building?

I'd consider it a downgrade :bsmilie:

Convergence one way doesn't necessarily make sense the other way.

Additional features (like camera, calculator, random apps) are attractive on a phone because... it's compact, and something you usually carry with you.
Having phone features on a DSLR makes sense because... ? It's compact, and something you usually carry with you?

That said, Samsung's Galaxy NX is almost there though.

Hands-on: Samsung Galaxy NX real-world camera test - Pocket-lint

Tell me when any manufacturer produces a phone with a full frame 36mm x 24mm sensor. Never mind how many megapixels.

So? It's just the same PureView they already had before.

Same limitations of cramming so many pixels into a tiny chip.

Won't even get close to a DSLR in real usage.

not really, it uses a different sensor. The lens is different. It comes with OIS (which was really good in Lumia 920). All the above makes it so much better than the 808. oh and it does not run symbian....

Nokia shares first official image samples from 41MP Lumia 1020: Connect

The samples looks really good. I think the DR will suck badly though.

I will be getting this once they release a note-sized version with like 5.5inch screen. Kudos Nokia for pushing the camera front. I think once you reach this level of performance, compact beginner camera will really die out...

I hope they don't outsource the image provider to the same company which Samsung outsourced to.
