Hi guys, i am so excited to see what nikon will release in pma 2009. What would be the new lens this year?? oh boy.

this thread is meant to be fun ;)

Please share your prediction. what do you think will nikon release??? and what do you hope they release.

okay start from me.

What nikon will release:
1) i am pretty sure it would be new 70-200mm VR. everybody has been talkin about it.

2) nikon 85 1.4 afs. nikon has released 50 1.4 (new one). logically they should do the same to 85.

3) i think there are more lenses but i really dont have any clue what they will bring to the table. thats why its so exciting right. hehehehehe

what i hope nikon release ein 2009 (everybody can dream sometimes : ) )

1) new 17-55mm DX with VR (come on nikon, make this one)

2) replacement of 17-35mm 2.8 (maybe 17-40 like canon)

come on, voice what you think. this thread should be fun as we get closer to really anticipated event, PMA 2009. yahoooo :D

dude, you better wake up.

what in the world are you thinking? you seriously think they will merge?

no way. not that we dont want it to happen , but its just not gonna happen. they compete against each other.

its like saying , honda and toyota will become one company. are you kidding me.

seriously, even before the price hike, i was hesitant of buying lens in singapore. its more expensive here in general.

now, they hike up the price even further, screw that. i aint buying.

the only attractive price in singapore before was nikon 24-70 and it was 2200 bucks (close to US price). and i was considering of going for that. but i thought i will wait until next year. and then BOOM, the price increased , well oh well.

guys, i know we are all shocked with all price increase and i hope everything will go back to normal.
but seriously, this thread is about new lens, who cares about price increase.

am i the only who get excited over this?

just share what you think will be the new lens and what you expect nikon to make. simple as that.

regarding price increase , nothing we can do about it. just hope this crisis will be gone soon and thing will go back to normal : )

They already have a couple of excellent lenses gathering dust on the shelves and smart enough to not have the date or code of manufacture on the range of lenses.

Just to ask those in retail line...is there a Manufacturer Return Policy for unsold lenses that have reached EOL or spent a certain time on the shelves?

New or rather Updated products are good but unsold inventory is even more worse though thankfully depreciation for lenses is practically never astronomical.

I think many people have been waiting years and months for the replacement for the Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D VR

Including me.
