New help in my DSLR D70s

I really need help. i just buy a nikon DSLR D70s. Yesterday i went to china town to try out my DSLR so i use night mode to take the night photo but when i take some of my photo is dark. but when i use M mode every is fine so can anyone help me thanks.

1. have set your camera.
2. read your manual
3. bring your camera even you go toilet
4. if you did not understand why the picture turn out to so bad
1. read your manual again.
2. If still cannot understand ask the expert in forum believe they are the best of the best. ( pls forget about espn he will ask you to BBB)
3. there is a magazine that publism few month back ( cannot remember the title sorry)
5. Go for some basic course.
