New gantry at Bras Basah

Hi all

This has been bugging me for quite some time... why are there new gantries at Bras Basah?

Isn't the whole Orchard area an RZ?

Can anyone shed some light on this? Thx.

Before the RZ/CBD zone....we already have the ERP zone.....last-time. Now after the RZ/ CBD zone.....we 'HAVE' the ERP in operation again in the evening...... So in future, may be in the RZ/CBD....there will be some kind of sub CBD zone. meaning before u enter the RZ/CBD, u pay the ERP. when entering, u pay the RZ/CBD.......and further to enter to the inner RZ/CBD, u pay.....after you done what you need to do......go home, you take CTE to AMK, u pay........so remember to top up your cash card real full before you are on the road.
guess this is the beginning.....more to come.....:thumbsd:

No lah, it will be too expensive. So many carparks in Sg. Next time everything will be through GPS. The moment you car start rolling.....kah ching!!!!!

If u cannot afford it then dont drive a car, take taxi or bus or mrt. It will become cheaper to own a car, but more expensive to use a car. It is lame to complaint this and complaint that and in the end u still drive your car, no matter what u complaint.

Take bus good... if everybody dumps their cars, go for bus/taxi/MRT, MRT will need to have a train every 2 minutes in the peak timings, SBS buses will need shorter intervals and all needs double decker or even triple decker!!!

And to cater for demand, new buses, new bus captains, larger bus interchanges and higher transport fees!!!

Hahaha... they'll replace the IU with a GPS/GSM system that feeds directly to your road tax and then bill you monthly by GIRO for every km (or minute) travelled per month. You are now your own taxi owner and driver

they'll increase the price of your public transport lor... then nxt time cannot tax you on the road, they tax you on the pedestrain pathway, u walk on the right express lane add 2 bucks per street. Remember to top up your ez link card at every corner...

May not be true.. if sit taxi.. bo pian, still kenna pay. It simply means transport cost will rise.. so how long more do you bus/mrt will remain unaffected?

Anyway, thx for all your comments.. so noboby here has a clue why the gantry is there? If write to forum, u think LTA will reply?
