Ok, I honestly, really, really find the colours way too excessive. The reds in the reflection of the sunset shot for instance, are just way too intense to the extent that they look clipped as well. If you pardon the digital term to describe the emulsion.

Not to mention the "mild" comparison shot is from Velvia 100F, which while not quite Velvia 50, isn't exactly a shrinking violet in the saturation stakes to begin with. E100C on steroids springs to mind...

I am currently living in Japan and to help clarify some information regarding Fuji's new Fortia film, it will be released on 7/22 on a first come, first serve basis here in Japan. There is a limited quantity as djork wrote of 50,000 35mm 5-packs and 20,000 120-roll (brownie) 5-packs. The color is really saturated on this film and it is a good idea that the user understand correctly how to use it. That's why the weekend after its release, four Japanese photographers will be giving a lecture on how best to use this film. Unfortunately, it will be held in Japan and also only in Japanese.

For those of you interested, I will try to purchase a bunch of Fuji Fortia film when it is released on 7/22 and, for all fairness and safety of the transaction, I will post them up for sell on eBay. At the moment I'm not sure how much I will be able to get, but I'm hoping to have a total of at least three 5-packs each of 35mm and 120 roll film. If you are interested, please post a response to this message and judging by the number of replies, I will try to purchase more if necessary.

To anyone that's interested to get your hands on some Fortia film, I have both 35mm and 120-roll film listed on eBay. Depending on the response to these listings, I may post more listings soon. As of right now, it's early evening in Japan on Fortia's release day and there is still a decent amount of film available at the stores.

Is there any point getting this new film to try? Since it's not available in Singapore, the labs would not have configured their processors for correction and contrast for this particular emulsion. Anyone knows anybody here in Singapore who can actually do it?

What would be the point of having an "E-6" processing standard, if you had to adjust for every variety of film ? If anything, the adjustment has to come from the photographers ... just like the uninitiated using Velvia 50 for people shots :sweatsm:
