New @ Canon AE1P (Batteries and help!)

Recently bought a Canon AE1 Program and I'm wondering where would be a good place to buy the alkaline batteries! Anyone know anywhere cheap & good?

Also it'd be great if you could drop some tips on how to handle and take good care of the camera so it'll stay in the best shape it can

Homefix and other small hardware shops still have these battery types. Not sure what you consider as 'cheap'.

Alternative is 4x A76 battery put together in a thin plastic hose. (like those drinkin straw).
