New Camera spoilt?

Hi can I ask the pros here what does it mean when the camera main LCD shows vertical black and white lines, which doesn't go away even after switching the camera off? It's a Nikon D800. Pls see attached photo.

it seem is very obviously..... not function properly.

bring your camera to the Nikon Service Centre.


and I would strongly recommend you use a custom camera plate (+-$80) instead of the generic one, and get a custom L plate (+- $250) if you want to shoot vertical format on tripod often.
