A little know fact, the British Indian Army Captain by the name of "Patrick Stanley Vaughan Heenan" who had conducted espionage for the Empire of Japan was eventually tried and convicted of treason before being executed at Keppel Harbour by his British prison guards in the final days before the Fortress of Singapore fell to the Empire of Japan.
His name still remained engraved on a wall in the Kranji Commonwealth War Memorial alongside thousands of others who died honourably.

Who knows perhaps next time someone visit a barber, he or she may just be a full colonel in a foreign power possibly tasked with providing pre-strike and post-strike Bomb Damage Assessment (BDA) next door for his employer. :bsmilie:

It was mentioned "... The report on the air raid was a small real estate on page 8, with no screaming title and accompanying illustration..." but you may be right though, time constraint could be an influencing factor on the minimal coverage.

I think during that time British is over stretch with Europe war... that's why almost they didn;t provide much support thier colonies in the pacific... an US around that time cant join the pacific war, so they let pearl harbour to go down to give them reason to join the war...
It would be nice for the British if they can simply blame the downfall of their empire on a few traitors. It is also amazing that Sempill could join the Admiralty despite being monitored closely by MI5. Ultimately the war is the hellish doings of persons like Hitler, Hideki and Hirohito.
