NEW 300D firmware hack, ISO3200, MLU, focusing selectable

this is a new beta version.

New in this release:
- ISO 3200
- Mirror Lock up

Changes:
- 'Left' button selects the autofocus mode:
PA-1 - ONEShot
PA-2 - AIservo (reported as doesn't work, read Post no. #8)
PA-3 - AIfocusAF
- FEC is moved to JUMP button
- 'Right' button has no function assigned

- the default button in delete prompt was changed from 'Cancel' to 'OK'. So, be aware.

Now if you want to delete an image, press DEL button and then SET one. To Cancel press any other key."

so what are some other things the 300D can do physically but not yet allowed in the software?

just tested.
works as in 1st post.
But,
in MLU mode, timer beep not syncronised with timing (non-issue)
in MLU mode, 2 flashes, when mirror goes up, & when shutter opens. I assume the 1st 1 is for FEL.

sorry hor. dumb question - wats the different modes of AF for, and having a mirror lock-up function? :embrass:

One Shot --- Once focused, will not refocus while the trigger is 1/2 pressed.
AI Servo --- Will continue focusing/tracking the subject. (Good for sports, or for moving subjects.)
AI Focus AF --- The camera choses any 1 of the above as it wishes.

MLU --- Mirror goes up 1st, waits a while, then shutter opens. This reduces blurred images due to camera shake when the mirror goes up & causes vibration. useful for shutter speed ard 1/60 to ard 1sec.

Works like a charm. And I thought the 2nd curtain also works? :D
 

PA-2 - AIservo (reported as doesn't work)

Reported as : 1/2 press, can AI servo, but cannot tigger the shutter when pressed fully.

Tried : 1/2 press, can AI servo, let go, & IMMEDIATELY fully depress. it snaps... (My friend found that out, confirmed by me, ... ;p He also using 300D)

Nope, 2nd curtain not working yet...
FEC does work. Maybe u got them confused?

Hallelujah ! I never thought I'll every say this, but I LUV Russians ! Heh heh.... But I think I'll wait a while longer for them to get the AI Servo working first, and maybe add a way to switch metering modes too.

Hmm. FEC sure works. Just how does one test for 2nd curtain?
 

FEC worked since the previous 'version' of the hack.... I've been using it pretty much and it sure is helpful to avoid a very harsh flash effect.

Haven't been able to snap anything in AIservo mode yet, it just refuses to activate when the shutter release is fully pressed.

ISO3200 works but the noise is out of this world!!!

beta???... Firmware hack also got beta... wow... if tis russian guy commercialize tis hack... ... :sweat: :sweat: :sweat:
 

mirrior lockup works? can anyone tell me

I dun really need the 3 focus modes...ISO 1600 i already not interested...not to mention 3200
***I need the Kevin setting
***I need the metering mode

What else? wat 10d can do, 300d can do as well....
 

Long time ago, some people laughed at the idea of FEC on the 300D.
Not so long time ago, some people laughed at the idea of focusing selection, & MLU.
Now, people are laughing at selectable metering mode.
 

i think people would laugh because they are jealous the little eos 300d can be so powerful even as its bigger brother...pay the cheeper price of 300d but still get the goodys of 10D
