interesting, wonder KM or Sony can have agreement with Tamron and release it under KM or Sony Brand.
Hopefully the quality can match it's 17-35mm f/2.8-4.0.

interesting lens. But I prefer full frame lens...

quite a good range.
wonder when will it be available in SG?

50mm not long enough.... I want it longer at the long end at 70mm so that the 35mm equivalent focal range is 24-120mm.... that would make an excellent travel lens... no need f/2.8. Although 17-50mm is better than the 17-35mm that I have now... but to change is such a waste....

at the bottom it says canon, nikon, and km af-d mounts...
yet another vote of confidence for the future of the A-mount.

great max aperture and nice focal range. if it's as good as the 17-35 or the 28-75...

The 17-50 is a followup after the successful 28-75. Read from reviews many rate 28-75 is better than 17-35 in photo quality and on KM DSLR it focus faster too. I had tried KM 17-35 it s AF spped is not any faster than 18-70 kit lens. The 28-75 is said to match the AF speed of 50mm lens. Dont know will KM release their version 17-50 as they did for 17-35, 18-70 and 28-75?

my balls is still attached to my c*ck... :bsmilie:

i think since tamron made the 28-75 for KM, buying either is the same, its just branding... i've not see a comparison between the Tamron made & KM made, and some say better coating, but strange, does KM actually take the lens back & apply coating? cos its quite funny if Tamron is going to bring the lens (as in the glass) to KM den KM do coating den bring back to Tamron. which will infact make the price alot higher than it should.

and strange enuff, i seldom use a 28-75 (ask BBTM how mint is mine... hehe), i prefer the 17-35, either on digital or film. and if they come out with a 17-50 for D7D, i might get, but just to use when i put a 28-75 on film, and 17-50 on digital, so that i can take the exact same image on either.

Yeah man.. the A mount is not going away any time soon, even if Sony decides to screw the system. There's still a huge existing user base.
