Needed help with choosing the right lenses for Sony Nex 7

I am totally new to photography, finally bought IT after many years of consideration. Recently bought a Nex 7 complete with a E18-200 Sony Lens. This lens is versatile but what I needed was more of a lens that I could take pictures of my baby and little children. Any kind soul there can help? Thanks in advance!!!

Not quite sure what you are asking about.Your Nex7 and zoom lens is fully capable of taking not only
babies and children but much more.I think firstly you should read your camera's user manual to
familiarise yourself with Nex7 controls and features.

This lens is versatile but what I needed was more of a lens that I could take pictures of my baby and little children.

Not sure what you mean by that but there are tutorials, videos on you tube and articles for you to learn from. Example which focal length should I use for a particular portrait for head, half or full body type of picture. What aperture and shutter speed, when or how to use flash, etc.( There are no hard and fast rules. Creativity is key.)
