Need to replace Tripod latch

Hi I am a newbie to photography. I have an old tripod at home but the latch has been missing for some time and I cannot find it. Is it possible to buy the latch (the part with the screw to attach the cam) from somewhere outside? Any idea how much it would cost?

best is to bring down ur tripod and ask them

they normally wanna see if it fit, else get a new one..

It is known as the quick release plate. Not really called a latch. And different tripod brands have different QR plates.
