The Crumpler Formal Lounge.

Crumpler bags are good if you want to carry both laptops and camera equipment. Go to CP and have a look. They have a big collection there for you to open, touch and look see look see.

Just curious..U want to bring the camera and laptop overseas? If u just need an additonal storage space u can take the external HDD with CF slot....laptop is not necessary at all...It just add weight

May I know what price is CP selling for Formal Lounge ?

Hopefully it is not too heavy, some camera bags already have some
weight even when they are empty.

I'm on a business trip so my working laptop is a must but then I would also
like to go round shooting during my off days, so thinking of lugging my
camera as well.

i bought the big brother of formal lounge, called the farmers double...(exactly the same but slightly bigger). this cost $185

if this helps at all...

they quoted me $152. ;)

Thanks showtime and bsplenden for the info. Do you guys happen to know
that if there is any weight in Formal Lounge even it is empty ?

oh surely there will be some weight... the farmers double is not light even when empty... its all the padding lah... but no big deal... the weight distribution is really good. so carrying your load will be easy on you..

Get a Crumpler, just because they are so much COOLER than any other camera bags!

I've got a 'Brian's Hot Tub' which is HUGE - can store laptop and all my gear and room for other stuff too...

sometimes photographers want to be steathy and practical about issues such as dirt and dust... so lowepro might be the choice in those circumstances... crumpler seems more fashionable...

I'd go with LowePro CompuTrekker, enough space to hold everything you listed, with room for expansion. Plus, its a backpack-style bag, which you'll appreciate after carrying the bag around for a few hours.

thats a nice bag.... i was looking at it but i realised that i cannot put a D100 with MB-D100 in vertically with lens attached... so did not buy it... its a solid bag though... ultra rugged...

Thanks guys for all the recommendations.

I went to take a look at the Crumpler Notebook/camera bags at CP just now
and was attracted by the nice red colour "Puppet" but its much smaller
than "Formal Lounge". I did not bring my laptop along and the
salesperson was not sure if it can hold my 15" laptop so will have to bring it
there again to try out. If its ok I'll probably buy the "Puppet" but it costs
$224 (after discount), much more expensive than "Formal Lounge" but has
more padding though.

i'm surprised that a smaller bag costs more... must have its pros then... enjoy your bag...

or u can straight away get the even bigger one....schrinkle....but one note of advice ...crumpler bags tt can put both cam and laptop tend to be difficult to zip up...from exp...dunno if the others face this prob.....

no such problem. only if i try to overstuff the bag then, yes of course, any bag is the same...
