Need Pro Advice about FILTERS

Hi,

I just bought D90 Kit lens last month and still new in this field....

I need your help regarding this matter...

My problem is every time i take a picture with the sky on the background,

it doesn't seem to have a blue sky....(Quite Disappointing..Sigh)

Is it me that has a problem in shooting or my camera need a filter????

If I buy a Tianya Filter or B+W Filter or Polarizer??? which should i be buying?????

I want something that i can use in wide angle or when stitching it on PS...

Can someone tell me how can i achieve a bluesh sky in my photo....

My take is that a CPL filter will help to bring up the contrast in the skies between blue and white.

Try a polarizing filter.

You also need to consider our climate here in the tropics. It's much harder to achieve a blue sky with the high humidity causing a lot of light diffraction and reflection. A Polarizer can help greatly, but we careful with the resulting vignetting if you use it on wide-angle.

is the non-blue due to blown-out (too bright) sky? you might have metered not so well to get the blues in the sky.
post a picture here for us to see will be better.
and yes, in general, a circular polarizer does help u in getting more blues (in the sky).

Or you can use GND exposure/brightness compensation in PP. You can also decrease luminance in the blue channel in PP.

the best way is to shoot at the right time and at the right exposure

Sometime the sky might be over exposed.

Polarization has its greatest effect at right angles to the sun
So u know now, when you're shooting perpendicular to the sun's rays, it is when u will get optimum increased saturation. So timing is impt here..

Do consider spending more to spend less. Not too sure what your filter diameter is for your lens (advise you go check out)...ask the nikon bros :bsmilie: We canon users buy 77mm ones to cut down cost:

(because we are mostly on 77mm and can step-up for the smaller ones from xx-77mm)

and DO NOT get conned into buying some lousy one at a high price..like the steineizer brand LOL

Polarizer alone won't get you bluish sky le... try shooting around 8-10am and 5-6pm with Sun perpendicular with your shot.
