I am wondering why my night shot has "blue" dot in the sky area ? Some shots does not have it.....Any expert can advise ?

I doubt so. Have tried taking shots from different angles and the "blue" dot doesn't exists....

Initially, I thought it's light entering from my view finder. But after using the viewfinder cover, the "blue" dot still exists...

try taking in a completely dark room, and see if that blue dot still appears. If so, it may be a problematic photosite on the sensor.

Thanks for your tips. Have tried and no "blue" dot.... :)

glare? there is some strong lighting in the photo...

Is it always at the same spot on ur different pics ?

Nikon D80s are known to have blue dots... can also be dust or flare. Can't see your pic well from my HP

Did you take off the UV/protector filter when taking the shot? May just be ghosting from your filter. It is advisable to take off any filters when shooting at night.

It's glare from the bright light at the MRT station. Note that it's at the exact opposite of that light from the center of the image. So it's probably a reflection off the UV filter.
