Hi all,

Need you guys to help me identify this problem..

Check out this two pics..

Notice inside the two grey lines which i added, there are a series of bright dots. Dots didnt exist before as i have used the same camera before for night shots. Pic has been resized so the dots are not so obvious.

Second pic shows a section of the bright dots at original resolution. SO OBVIOUS.

What's causing the dots to appear? Dirty lens? Faulty sensor? i'm stumped as i'm pretty new. Thanks.

Very interesting.

So regularly spaced, like the banding in 1D.

My best guess is some CCD processing artifact.

I would not obsess over it, because it probably does not appear in "normal" shots, only in long exposures. If you like to take night shots, just use PS to get rid of the artifacts (try using Median command).

Just tried to use another CF card, results are still the same. Same series of bright dots appear when a black image is taken.

See this above pic for the artifacts. Any ideas? :dunno:

edit: spelling :p
