Budget for the lens not at the moment yet.
BTW, what the budget for the len? I see what I can do.

because if u spend the $1k on the 300d body alone, then u still need at least a few more hundred bucks to buy at least a lens . also have to factor in the cost of CF card, batteries, bag, etc

I see around $1K to $1.2K can get the package with the kit lens with extra CF,
batteries and maybe a bag.
Especially when the 350D launch.

Well, if you can't afford it, and don't see the need for a DSLR, don't get it just for the sake of it. The FZ20 might fit your needs if you want a hassle free camera without pricey accessories.
