manual shutter control.

its BULB mode, when u use either Manual or Shutter Priority mode you set the shutter speed more than iirc 30sec will have another thing called BULB. using that you manually control the on and off of the shutter.

Try playing with your WB setting.

cheers!
Dan

Your 18-55 lens will do just fine. As they said, set your shutter to long exposure say 15secs-2mins whatever. Small aperture if you wish. The smokey rock effect, etc comes naturally.

This pic looks like its taken around labrador park. Took a this exact spot before.

Please read the manual on how to access WB on your camera, plus other button functions.

If you're not sure how WB affects your pic, shoot the same object under different WB settings. You're bound to notice the difference.
