Hi

I needed to buy a digital camera as a gift for a friend's younger sister. Budget is around $200-$250.

Compact, ease of use, long battery life will all be pluses especially if its compact.

I have something in mind which is a little over my budget but is considering it.
Casio Exilim EX-Z75
Will Canon or Casio be a better choice?

Looking forward to all the suggestions. :)

With a budget that low, you'll have some problems. Might as well get the casio, though i've never seen a casio that was good compared to Canon, Nikon, Sony

I have a Casio QV51, not bad although its an very old camera and its still working good.
I think for a normal PnS as a gift..it should be alright.

Looks like Canon is still a safer bet though aesthetically and pricewise, the casio model I showed fits my requirement. I m using a canon Canon Powershot A420, 4 mega pixel camera basic camera as well, functionalitywise, I have no complaints about it. But the shape and bulk might be a little turn off to a younger person :bsmilie: If anyone out there knows of any basic canon digi cams that fit my requirement, do let me know. Your help will be greatly appreciated. :)
