04. Size? dont want it to be very big
05. Type of batteries used? the best kind cause i know nuts about this
06. Weight? depends.. normal
07. Able to mount lenses/filters? no idea whats this
08. Manual controls required? no idea whats this
09. Auto-Focus Speed? no idea whats this
10. What kind of pictures are you hoping to take? nice pictures.. any kind of picture.


I have a few models in mind... but if possible, can recommend more other brands/models.

1) Nikon Coolpix 4600
2) Fujifilm FinePix A345

For digicam, the better ones are from Canon, Panasonic & Sony.

canon A510. or A520. all within ur budget. full manual controls, AA batts. A520....when i last helped a friend to buy...$425 before GST at AP.
