Hi folks,

Can anyone give me advice on which wide angle lens should i go for with my 40d?
- Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM
- Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8 L II USM
- Tokina AF 11-16mm f/2.8 AT-X Pro DX

I personally like the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM but will need more advice from you folks.

thank you for your kind opinions.

Note the 2nd one is not exactly an ultra wide angle on your cropped camera. The rest are.

efs 10-22... got one and never looked back:)

Tell us more about what you intend to shoot in UWA. Really depends on your needs, each lens has its own merits.

i would like to use it for landscape and buildings.

should be used mostly outdoor.

unless u die die want the f/2.8 effect...get the 10-22. case closed.

get the 16-35. but 1st change your body to full frame one 1st.:bsmilie:

On a 1.6x crop body If you only want normal wide angle for group photo...EF 16-35 mm f/2.8 L II USM will be good.

But if you want ultra wide angle, take the Canon EF-S 10-22mm f/3.5-4.5 USM...;)

Since its outdoor, and u are doing landscape, u dont need 2.8.... get the 10-22:)

Tokina has also 10-17 fisheye ....

Er, and why might you be bringing this up? The 10-17 FE is not even a rectilinear lens; it serves a different purpose from the other three lenses that the threadstarter is considering.
