I have pretty much worked out that to get into photography I am going to start off with a film SLR. But which one? Anyone have any experiences to share on the various options from Canon / Nikon / Minolta? Which one is best and following on, which model should I go for?

Pretty much starting off so the camera will be used for a whole heap of experimentation. But I want a camera where I can re-use any lenses I buy now on a digital down the track.

Thanks...

if you are looking long term, go study the whole system not just the camera, I would suggest Nikon system, as it has the most number of users and 2nd hand stuff.
