Need car for 6 months -- best advice??

If I need a car for about 6 months, do u have any recommendation? Buying new and selling it off after 6 months is not worth it in terms of $ right? So should I get a 2ndhand?

Any other issues I should note?

Go rent one .... might not be cheaper but at least no worry about maintenance, road tax depreciation, finding buyer later etc ...

Renting a 1.6L car is around $1k per month, and it includes insurance as well.

If you buy and sell, you will have to pay 2% to LTA when you sell, which is not insignificant.

buy an old 2nd hand COE car.

u wont lose much, and cheaper than renting for 6 months. better to get those reliable models which are cheap to repair like the honda, or even the old mercedes E200.

if you do buy, suggest u pay 100 bucks for a full AA service check, just to make sure car is in good running condition.

i rememebr my first car, was a suzuki 800cc. i buoght it as a COE car, had 6 months left. cost me 800...

For short term driving (1-3 years). Buy 2nd car is a good choice.
