need camera to recommend

>what's the most convenient form of storing images in the DC ? is it the microdrive ? quite fancy the idea coz its large capacity, so if it's a good opinion i'll like the model to have support for microdrive
right now sony only has the 128mb MS max.. so it's not very attractive..
>battery life.. what battery does it uses ? what are the cons of using proprietory/rechargeable batteries ? will several AA batt models do a good job ? does the Sony 707 need a proprietory battery ?
was quite impressed with the Canon90IS, but really didn't like it's 2.1Mpx...
The Dimage 7 seems really good too.. anyway i can get a hold of the local prices ?

Make sure you also factor in other costs like peripherals, i.e. more memory, bag, tripod, spare batteries and such...
Aiya... So sorry typo error. It's expENsive not expANsive.
Dimage 7 uses CF (Compact Flash> Max 1GB) is much cheaper and avaliable in higher capacity over MS (Memory Stick>Max 256MB)
It uses 4 AA batteries (alkaline or Ni-MH batteries). Pro and Cons.
Pro> cheaper and easily avaliable.
Cons> Might not be longer lasting than those LITHIUM batteries.

The pros for NiMH are simply too numerous. Simply having an extra set or two goes a long way and far exceeds using the lithium batteries. Furthermore with chargers like rayovacs fast one hour charger you'll be up and running in no time after such heavy usage that you exhaust your "3 sets" of batteries.

But one thing to note about D7 is that its lens is capable of going to a relatively wide angle (28mm at 35mm equivalent). Some users find that due to this, many filters cause vignetting when the camera is at the widest end. extra slim filters seems ok. And some people at Dpreview mentioned that cokin's P system is ok as well.
