Appreciate advise on what features to look out for and what are the good brand tripod to consider.

Gitzo Explorer series is definitely a good Macro Tripod. CF shd cost you <$900 and a markins ballhead M10 about $550 to go along with it and you are good to go.

not sure if still got budget for sidekick.
flash bracket should cost ard $100.
2 way focusing rail from cathay cost ard $200

hope these help.

you can get Gitzo Tripod from Cathay photo Pennisula/Sim Lim, K13 (Pennisular level 2), TK (shaw tower).

Markins head from John 3:16 (funan level 4 or 5[cant remember actual level]) or TK

Wimberly sidekick, focusing rail, flash bracket can get from Cathay Pennisular.

Funan area shd be your one stop shopping destination for your need.

cheers!
