Guys/gals, thought of upgrading my sodimm rams in my notebook....came across a few choices like

2 x 1gb Myr$185-203 each

Mushkin
Corsair
Twinmos
Kingston

Or

1 x 2gb Myr$485

OEM version using infineon chips but offer only one year warranty.

Which combination would you prefer?

Thanks for your input. :)

definitely 2x 1gb.... 1x 2gb is priced at a premium... unless you need it, i don see the purpose of spending more than double for it.

besides being cheaper, there are some unofficial tests that states that a 2X1GB combo actually runs better than a 1x2GB combo. somehow the cpu is able to better utilise both ram sticks.

Depend on what your notebook can support. If it can support up to 4GB, then I suggest you go with 1 x 2G RAM. That will leave you another empty slot to upgrade later.

Sorry, din make myself clear earlier.
Currently, I am running 1 x 512mb and 1 x 1gb at 533mhz.
The only 2gb ram availabe is OEM version at 533mhz.

What I am wondering is the OEM version reliable? coz other branded ones offered lifetime warranty. Where as the OEM version is only 1 year warranty, is OEM just as good and reliable as branded ones?

Thanks Ola and everyone :)

Upgraded to 2 x 1gb Mushkin along with 4gb flash drive HP C450W ready boost.
Visibly faster :)

Anyone know where or how I can test my notebook performance? Thanks ;p
