Any comment on using Tamron 90mm to start macro photography?.... what else do I need to buy to have a clear insect profile photo?

1) Tripod/ tripod head
2) Ring flash/ normal flash will do too
3) macro rail (optional)
4) extension tubes (optional)
5) close-up lens (Raynox, Canon 500D, 250D, etc) (optional)
6) Lots and lots of practice.
