Heya one and all! National Day is coming soon and there are quite a few things going on in conjunction with this iconic annual event. Here's a run down of some of the major things going on.

Website launch

The NDP06 website has been launched already, you may visit it at http://www.ndp.org.sg

E-balloting:

That's right! It's time to get up and ballot for those NDP tickets! This year's balloting period runs from 12 noon on 25th May till 11pm on 4th June 2006. Application is thru Teleohone, SMS, the NDP website and SAM/AXS Machines. More details can be found at the NDP 2006 website at www.ndp.org.sg.

Everyone is entitled to only one application and may apply for either 2, 4 or 6 tickets. This applies for tickets to the Preview on 29th July or the actual day on 9th August. Success rate will be proportionately higher for those who apply for less tickets.

Successful applicants will be notified by telephone from the period of 16th to 23rd June.

At the same time, the local broadcast media may hold ticket giveaway contests.

In the stadium itself lor. Only bad thing is there's a lot of atmosphere (smoke and stuff) in the stadium, which makes the long exposures look bad. Then if you suay, some balloon will come and block your picture, spoiling it.

I think the best site to shoot fireworks on NDP is the National Stadium itself.

But the 'Singapore Fireworks Festival' mentioned is at Marina Bay. Will some of the open staircases @ Marina Square be good?

From the NDP site:

Hi

Anybody organising a trip for the SFF events?

Last year, there was one organised for the NDP SAF Marina South exhibition, followed by the SFF Portugal team shoot.

Would be great to do that again this year. Please let all of us know if anyone's organising again.

Hope to hear good news soon!

Regards
Clipper
