I guess the reason behind Team USA's popularity is the fact of MARKETING MUSCLE AND MAGIC which doesn't reflect true ability.

Kinda like taking a Nikon D2x vs D80 or a Canon 1DsMkII vs 400D, whose paper capability doesn't translate into Photographic Ability

no lah. USA never send their best team to tournaments one. The players very lazy, don't want to work overtime. Always send the younger players to international tournaments.

If you have like shaq, tim duncan, wade, lebron, kobe in one team, how to lose????

Anyway don't know most of the players only recognise Allen and Yao. I lost touch with NBA after MJ (bulls) last game... The fake, ankle brake and lean back jump shoot still fresh in my mind.

They don't need to....one full season in NBA is tiring enought liao...so they rather go fishing and golfing in their Miami mansion during off season......let those newbie to fight for Olympic or whatever dreamteam they want to call it....it was just a dream anyway :lovegrin:

Regarding the topic of Team USA not winning major tournaments, same thing at the World Cup (soccer) also, those team with lots of "superstars" also didn't win.
Money from the clubs come first, glory for the country come behind.
