Hi,

My lens says this:

max. aperture: 3.5-6.3
min. aperture: 22

This is a 18-250 mm lens.

So is the max aperture 3.5 or 6.3
Why 2 values in max aperture ?

Thanks,

Hi Bro
from my understanding (i'm a newbie),
3.5 is the max aperture when u use the wide angle
6.3 is the max aperture when you zoomed in all the way

Oh.

Thanks.
Now got it.

In short, it means max aperture for 18mm is f/3.5 and that for 250mm is f/6.3

Thanks,

your lens is not a fixed aperture lens.

at 18mm, its biggest aperture is f3.5.
when you zoom to 250mm, the biggest aperture you can use is f6.3.

that is the reason why there are 2 max aperture numbers.

Thank you all.

and in between it might be f/4.0, f/5.6, accordingly. :)

this is because of the lens design.
