I ended up at Marina Barrage today and took some photos. I'm still fairly new at this, so I expect bad composition and bad exposure. Comments and suggestions are welcome (just don't be too harsh :))

Edit: Apparently I also don't know how to link the images, so just see below

I actually went there to try and get the sunset against the city, but I couldn't seem to find the right angle. For some reason, I orange sky keeps staying to the left, and I really couldn't get a good picture

Everyone probably has a picture like this stashed somewhere, but here's my first take on it

Finally, I found out that some things look good on the LCD, but bad once you upload them to the pc *sigh*

great pics for a first attempt.
maybe u can read up more on composition.

use the LCD as a gauge, not to determine your exposure.

Y not post this in critique section?Probably get more advice.

when you look at LCD, magify them to see ...any blur and crap..
and on sunny days

LCD can fool u too making correctly expose parts look underexposed. and seems like expose correctly to over expose... try to put ur hand cover it...and look

Erm, to upload pictures, not sure about other browsers, but using Safari, you right click on the image, select copy image address, then open up the post on clubsnap and click on the icon (grey mountain with yellow background) which allows you to upload a picture, pasting the address in the box below to submit a picture. ;D
And I should think those first attempts are impressive. But #3, #4, #6 just didn't cut it for me. However, like what others have said, try posting this in critiques corner to get better advice.

Well, good enough for 1st attempt...composition is truly important...

I am a newbie as well...maybe we can go shooting together one day...what do u think??

wow. not bad for a first try. the second last picture was my favourite. looks like fire in the sky.

I am an amateur myself, but what I see from yr flickr pages are actually quite good!

keep it up...we newbies hope to get pointers from the seasoned ones out there.

your pics not bad what... however i find that pic img_1010 is too cropped, perhaps a wider view will be nicer. did you shoot with a tripod? the last time i went there without a tripod my pics looks ok on the lcd, when i load to com, omg.... haha.
